Oblique Aerial Cameras
The research project aims to investigate the potentialities of oblique aerial camera systems (e.g. Vexcel Osprey, Midas, Pictometry, VisionMap A3, IGI digicam, etc.). The use of aerial oblique imagery has become a standard for many civil and mapping applications. The indisputable virtue of oblique photography lies in its simplicity of interpretation and understanding for inexperienced users as well as the derivation of dense and complete 3D data of urban areas. Applications go from building detection to structural damage classification, from road land updating and administration services to 3D city modeling.

GEOBLY Software:
Within these activities, in collaboration with AVT Airborne Sensing, we developed the GeoBLY software (GEOmetry extraction tool from aerial OBLique imagery), an efficient and flexible solution for the management of large oblique aerial surveys and the extraction of accurate 3D information from them. Geobly is intended to meet the need of mapping agencies and other actors involved in mapping applications (e.g. cadastral building update, and other detailed restitution of objects). More info in:
