The summerschool - supported by CIPA Heritage Documentation - is an opportunity for scholars, MSc and PhD students, researchers, heritage specialists, surveyors, archaeologists, architects, restorers, conservationists and geomatics people to deepen their knowledge and expertise with reality-based 3D surveying, geoinformation technologies and modelling techniques.

The school builds upon the large expertise of the organizers in knowledge & technology transfer events

The school will feature theoretical lectures as well as practical work in the field and with the data. The participants will learn the basics in (i) surveying and data acquisition at different scale and with different techniques as well as (ii) data processing methods for 3D models and metric products’ generation. 

The participants, during the practical works, will be divided in groups and with some tutors they will exercise with photogrammetry, laser scanning and bathymetry within the vicinities. Each group will be responsible to create some 3D products and, in the last day, the results will be presented and evaluated. The participants must bring a laptop (middle-high performances) and, possibly, a digital camera. Other surveying instruments and processing software will be distributed by the organizers.
